What is NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) NLP is concerned with how we think and how we use language and how these processes impact on the outcomes of our actions. The ‘Neuro’ part acknowledges the fundamental idea that all our behaviours stem from our thought processes. The ‘Linguistic’ part acknowledges that we use language to communicate our thoughts and behaviours to others. Finally the ‘programming’ part is how we as individuals choose to organise our ideas and actions to produce results. Using NLP as a model is a useful tool for changing unwanted behaviours and achieving goals. We all have a unique belief system that is built up from our life experiences. These could include parental beliefs, religion, social class, etc. As our belief system affects the outcomes of our actions, to make positive change in our lives we need to make changes at this level. Beliefs are self-fulfilling prophecies and are often negative. NLP helps you to focus on what you really want and don’t want and enables you to make the changes necessary to achieve your goals. All change takes place first at the subconscious level and then we become aware of it. If you have been trying to make changes in your life and not succeeding, NLP , either on its own or combined with hypnosis, could be the answer you’ve been looking for.
