What is Hypnotherapy ? The term
hypnotherapy refers to the treatment (therapy) of a problem/issue
whilst in a hypnotic trance.
When you are in a hypnotic trance you are in a state of deep
relaxation. It is a time when your mind becomes quiet and receptive to positive
suggestions and changes. Most people choose to close their eyes when going
into trance but you do not go
to sleep during hypnosis - in fact, your senses are heightened, making you more aware of your surroundings, not less.
Being in trance is a natural and safe experience that we all enter into several times during the day. Have you
ever arrived at a destination and not remembered driving past a landmark or had to re-read a page of a book.?
These are times when you slipped into trance, but you were perfectly safe. As
with any trance, natural or induced by a therapist, your subconscious mind will
protect you and bring you out of trance if necessary. Hypnotic trance in itself is very relaxing but is
different from hypnotherapy - with hypnotherapy an experienced therapist can
help you to overcome any issues that are holding you back in your life.
Hypnotherapy is a gentle, relaxing
experience that can be used for many issues including eradicating unwanted
habits, pain relief, reducing stress, increasing confidence and so much more.
By allowing external distractions to fade, the therapy allows you to fully
relax and understand the root cause of any issues you want to deal with.
Hypnotherapy may be the help that you need to move on in your life. It can
help you to overcome problems and succeed in your chosen goal even when
conventional medical help may have failed. It is also
worth noting that a person cannot be put into trance against their will or be
made to divulge information against their wishes. You are fully aware and in
control of everything you say and do whilst in trance.
